Mary is a member
of the third generation of her family involved in the
real estate industry in the Oak Park area and she enjoys
the work, especially from the historical perspective
as revealed through searching and examination of documents
recorded against a particular piece of property. To
read for instance, the phrase "Mills & Sons
Subdivision" which is quite common in this area
and to be familiar with that family's home, which is
located in Oak Park and is listed in the National Register
of Historic Places, is to view your own community in
a unique way.
Mary’s professional
background includes 10 years of retail management with
Marshall Field & Co., 3 years of sales management
with an import wholesale firm and 23 years of general
experience in the title insurance industry through Prairie
Title.
Mary’s volunteer
activities in the community include active membership
in the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society,
which is the only suburban IWS supporting its own local
clinic providing well child medical and dental care.
In addition, she is a past officer and still active
member of the Board Auxiliary of the Hephzibah Children's
Association. Hephzibah is an agency, which provides
day care for school age children in the community, families
in crisis support; foster care placement services, temporary
and long term shelter for children in crisis. Hephzibah
is a nationally recognized grass roots organization,
which has been involved in child welfare for 100 years.
